Something’s not quite right here,
I think we’ve got it wrong,
Out of 365 days in the year,
They give you only one.
When every other day,
You’re present without fail,
Cleaning up our messes,
Keeping us on the rails.
I owe you so much more than,
A message in a card,
But showing you my feelings,
I always find it hard.
There’s one thing I am thankful for,
Above any other,
Is I’m happy to have you in my life,
As the world’s greatest mother.

My Valentine

Some may say that roses are red,
Some say they’re a waste of money,
Some people buy a romantic card,
And others prefer theirs funny.
But one thing we can count on,
Which is usually overlooked,
Is that florists do a “blooming trade”
And a table can’t be booked.
So what I am proposing,
To you “MY VALENTINE”
Is tonight we dine alone indoors,
And enjoy a bottle of wine.
